BEYOND THE RAINBOW
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, an on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful - lush and green and wide
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright glow pierced the night
"Twas the glow of many candles, shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in it's brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be
We are still connected by a cord no one can see
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart
Friends
in life we gather
Their prints we always find
Upon our hearts forever
This gift in life divined
Always there beside you
In the path you go
Follow you forever
With gentleness I'll show
You to me are beauty
In every waking day
Whenever you are near me
My heart just wants to say
To me there is no other
That means so much to me
Footsteps made together
With love and loyalty
If you need me silent
With not a word to share
Just a look of kindness
You'll know that love is near
Road on earth we'll travel
No matter where we go
Peace and love and kindness
What every heart will know.
************
I shall walk in the Sun above,
Whose golden light you loved.
I shall sleep alone and, stirring, touch an empty place.
I shall write uninterrupted.
Would that your gentle paw could stir my moving
pen just once again.
I shall see beauty, but none to match
your living grace.
I shall hear music, but none so sweet as the
droning song with which you loved me.
I shall fill my days, but I shall not, can not, forget.
Sleep soft dear friend, for while I live
You shall not die."

Come To Me
God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be
So He closed His arms around you
And whispered, "Come to Me."
You didn't deserve what you went through
and so He gave you rest,
God's garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best.
And when we saw you sleeping
So peaceful and free from pain,
We could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

The candles being lit tonight;
Cast a soft and welcome flame
draws our loved ones to the light,
As we call to them by name.
Imagine spirits taking flight,
For a moment our souls entwine.
Say not Good Night,
but in some Brighter Time
Bid them all-Good Morning.
A CAT IS...
A cat is ...
Many things to
many men,
More than just a
ball of fluff,
Its mind is wise;
its spirit's
strong,
It is both
delicate and
tough.
A cat is ...
A sleuth, a spy, a
private eye,
Trespasser and
invader,
Snoopy and
inquisitive,
An astute
investigator.
A cat is ...
Proud and brave -
cowed and afraid,
Loyal, fickle, hot
and cold,
Alert and sleepy -
bright and dull,
Naughty, haughty,
bold.
A cat is ...
Dependently
independent,
A royal ruler of
the realm,
A president and
C.E.O.,
And a captain at
the helm.
A cat is ...
A thinker of the
deepest thoughts,
With an
inpenetrable mind,
A people pleaser,
a problem easer,
A purr-ful
sedative that's
fine.
A cat is ...
A bafflement, a
puzzlement.
A question mark
with fur,
A perplexity, a
paradox,
A Rubik's Cube
that purrs.
Welcome to Lady's Page
Update June 25, 2009 - Lady has led a long and wonderful life with us. Her brother Buster passed over to the Rainbow Bridge in October, 2007 and I guess he was lonesome and missed Lady. So we are sad to say that Lady joined Buster at the Rainbow Bridge on June 25, 2009. Lady had thyroid problems for many years and in the past year she also developed kidney disease. She was 21 years old going on 22 years old, so she had a long life for a kitty. She will be missed terribly by Meowmie Aurora but most especially by her brother Simba, who is now an only cat. Lady was just a wonderful girl, very peaceful and calm and loving. She just liked to lay next to me on the couch and watch TV these past couple of years. She still got the occasional crazies and would race around the house while Buster and Simba just looked on in amazement. Lady loved to eat and was always asking for food. She went outside once in a while, cause she loved her grass. Lady was just a sweetheart and would lay next to me in bed right by my pillow by my head every night. I am going to miss her so much, she certainly has left an empty spot in my heart and in my bed. No cat will ever be able to take her place in my heart.
I am going to leave in all of Lady's past year updates, as this was a part of Lady's life and I want to leave a record of her and her activities.
My real birthday is on June 15, 1988. I will be 21 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR!!! During the
summer of 1988, my Meowmie Aurora had decided she wanted to get a kitten
so she went to the Friends of Animals who had lots of animals up
for adoption. Well, when Aurora saw all the kitties, she couldn't
decide which one to get. But, she thought, "Hmmm....Here is this
whole pen full of little tiny black and white kittens and which ever
one is the most playful kitty and comes up to me is the one I
will adopt." So Meowmie Aurora wiggled her finger on the side
of the cage, and here comes me, Lady. So, I was the kitty who Aurora
chose to adopt. When I was really tiny I loved to lay on Meowmie
Aurora's neck, nuzzle her hair, knead the back of her head, put my
nose in her ear and purr really loud. I still like to do that when
Meowmie Aurora lets me!!!! I was a really playful little
kitten and so cute...a little tuxedo kitten. I still am very playful
at times and get the "crazies" every once in a while!!! This is the
story of how I came to live at Meowmie Aurora's house and celebrate
my first birthday with Meowmie, Buster and Simba and live happily
ever after.
I am going to leave in all of Lady's past year updates, as this was a part of Lady's life and I want to leave a record of her and her activities.
February, 2009 Update - Here it is 2009 and I am still going somewhat strong. I will be 21 YEARS OLD IN JUNE, 2009. I have not been in the best of health this year, but I am still managing to get around. I have a bit of arthritis in my leg so I am kinda slows walking around. The vet told me I also have cataracs in both eyes, but I still manage to find my food bowl whenever I get hungry. Simba has been a real pain in the butt this winter. He doesn't go out when it gets so cold, so he attacks me whenever I go by. I just run like crazy and dive into my kitty bed and hid from him. I still have thyroid disease which makes me eat all the time. I drive my mommie nuts begging for food, especially at 7:00 o'clock in the morning. I still get the crazies every once in a while and run around like a nut. But most of the time I am sleeping either in my kitty bed under the plant table or on the kitty shelf in the window. I still love to sleep next to my mommie next to her head on the pillow every night. I have my own little spot with a soft pillowcase and everything that I sleep on. Well, that's about all the news for now. All in all, life is still pretty good and I am very happy!
April, 2008 Update - Well, I can't believe it's 2008 and I will be turning 20 years old this year in June. That's like around 100 years old in people years! I am really doing quite well. I sleep alot and eat a lot, and occasionally get the kitty crazies and like to go our side for a nip of grass now and then. We did have a sad fall last year. My not too favorite brother cat Buster passed away from kidney disease. I felt so sorry for him as he has been every sick for the last two years. But Mommie tried her best to take care of him. I do miss him even though we didn't get along too well. Simba and I have become a little friendlier since Buster passed away. He even licked my on top of my head the other day! Some nights I lay on the couch next to Mommie on one side and Simba lays down on the other side. My best spot to sleep is in my kittybed under the plant table looking out the sliding glass door. Then My next favorite spot to sleep is still on the fleece lined window shelf. At night I like to sleep right next to my Meowmie almost on her pillow. I am still pretty shy around strangers, but come out and eat catnip whenever Mom puts it out. I have generally been in good health, but have developed a slight tic in one of my feet, but I get along just fine even with the tic. All in all, life is good and I am pretty happy!
Febuary, 2007 Update - Well, I can't believe it's 2007 and I will be turning 19 years old this year in June. I am really doing very well. I sleep alot and eat a lot, and occasionally get the kitty crazies. My favorite spot to sleep is the fleece lined window shelf. I constantly have to battle Buster for that spot..who ever gets there first hogs the window seat for the day. My second favorite spot is on the couch behind Meowmie Aurora's computer, so I can be near her all day. At night I like to sleep right next to my Meowmie almost on her pillow. Buster used to sleep there, but I have taken over the spot. I am still pretty shy around strangers, but come out and eat catnip whenever Mom puts it out. I have generally been in good health, but have developed cataracs in my eyes. I guess I still see well enough to get around as I do go out in the summer to eat grass and take a walk with Mom and the other cats. My thyroid level was a little low so the Vet decreased my meds, and now my Mom thinks I am slightly overactive. I guess she'll have to take me back for another T3 test...another $100 down the drain. All in all, life is good and I am pretty happy!
June 2006: P.S. Here it is and I am another year older,
I will be 18 this year. I spend a lot of time indoors and love to
sit on my Meowmie's lap. She also let's me sleep on her pillow next
to her head and poke my nose in her ear at night! tee hee!
June,
2004 Update - Another good year has gone
by. I am feeling
Much better and have put on a little
weight. At least I am not
fat like the other kitties. I go out a
little now and then, but spend
most of my time sleeping in the closet where it
is nice and cool and
quiet. But I still have my "crazies
now and then, like last night I was
running and the house like crazy. Buster
and Simba could just stare
at me in wonder! Hehehehe! Buster and
Simba are still around and
once in a while act like my buddies.
Meowmie Aurora is fine and
home with us most of the time. I like
that. Then I can beg for food
all the time! Well that is about all.
Have a happy time.
October, 2003 Update - All is well, Buster, Simba and I are still
together. Simba practically lives
outside. Buster goes out in the morning and
then sleeps on the computer table next to Meowmie.
As for me, I am eating constantly because of the
Thyroid problem. My new favorite spot to
sleep is in the closet in the clothes basket (see
above). I spend all day there, except when
I am eating. Meowmie retired this year and
is home with us all the time. Yippee!
Another happy year has gone by!
Lady laughing!
On October 5, I was also made Pet of the Day, here is my Pretty Picture! If you would like to nominate
yourself or your friend for pet of the day, here is the URL to go to:

Hi, my name is Lady.
I was the first kitty that came to live with my Meowmie, (before Buster did). She saved me from an animal shelter and I will always love her for
that. When I was real little, I used to love to snuggle up and put my nose in my Meowmie's ear, knead her hair and purr real loud. She liked my my purring, but not my nose! We had some other cats living with us in the past 13 years, but they got sick and went to kitty heaven.
I was kinda happy when Buster arrived, but that didn't last long. Buster thinks HE IS THE BOSS. I hate it when he comes along and kicks me off the spot I am sleeping on. But, don't worry... I get my revenge when it comes to feeding time. I always nudge Buster out of his dish and eat his food! My favorite spot is the Kit Kat shelf with the sheep skin lining. It is so soft and warm and nice to sleep there in the sun. I like to go outside too, but I hide in the bushes if anyone comes along. My Meowmie takes me for walks with her, Buster and Baby Simba. She laughs so hard when I try to run up a tree (I weigh 15 pounds so it's not too easy to do.)
I don't like it either when people come to visit my Meowmie. I hide under the bed till they leave. They are all so loud! I am kinda afraid of thunder too, and stay under the bed till it stops. I guess I am a real "scardy Cat"! My Meowmie takes good care of me and gives me lots of good food to eat -- that is why I weigh so much. I love living with my Meowmie and hope we never move! (I just tolerate Buster!!!!) Oh by the way, I just accidentally got locked out of the house last night by my Meowmie. Boy was I scared!! I have never been outside all night before!!! I sure was glad to see my Meowmie in the morning!!!!!! My favorite spot to sleep now is under the Bed!
October, 2001 Update - Well, I had a nice summer being outdoors all the time, cause mommie was home all summer. But, health wise it wasn't too great. Mommie notice I was losing a lot of weight and took me to the Vets. We were both very worried, but it just turned out that I have thyroid disease. It is very common in older cats - I have an overactive thryroid. Now I have to take a pill every day, which I don't mind too much. I put a half a pound back on so I am feeling better and looking lots better. But right in the middle of that I had a bad reaction to fleas and tick medicine, and broke out in a terrible rash and itching like crazy. I had to be on antibiotics for that for a month. Now that is under control too and I am feeling all better.
Here are some of my current pictures
